Protecting the Environment – Tecserv Ltd Go Green

I am sure you are all aware, Tecserv have a strong set of values when it comes to looking after our customers and we don’t see why we should feel any different about the planet we inhabit, after all we are not the last generation that is going to need to live here!
With our organisations strong culture of continuous improvement along with our joint responsibility to look after and care for our environment for future generations we have been looking into other ways to improve how we offset our carbon footprint.
Looking after the environment has always been one of Tecserv’s core values, so is not that new to our business as we have always disposed of any disused equipment and business waste in the most responsible manner possible and over the years have invested heavily in following equipment to reduce our carbon footprint.
EPS Recycling Machine
You would not believe the amount of polystyrene that comes in the box with most new equipment and their accessories, we have even seen it present in toner packaging which seems slightly unnecessary! With the use of our EPS recycling devices, we can reduce the polystyrene to a ratio of 40/1 which in turn reduces the amount of space needed to store the polystyrene until a collection date is arranged with our recycling partner.
LPDE Baler
Nearly every new piece of printing equipment comes in a protective bag (in most cases recyclable) however at Tecserv we also like to protect our client’s printing equipment from the elements during transportation and we use a specific type of shrink-wrap to achieve this. As we have a hand in creating this waste it was our responsibility to invest in an LPDE baler which allows us to batch up any used shrink-wrap along with recyclable plastic bags, these are then collected by our recycling partners as and when we have a suitable load.
Carboard Recycling
Every new device or accessory that comes into to tecserv for assembly arrives with some kind of carboard packaging, this is by far the biggest volume of packaging we have to process so to reduce our environmental impact on this front we decided the most efficient way to handle this waste was to arrange for an onsite cardboard recycling bin to allow the safe storage and collection of any cardboard waste.
Carbon Neutral by 2025
We have noticed a shift towards greener products in the marketplace over the last few years hence the reason we have started supplying circular economy devices to our trade partners however we do come across many organisations that promote green but are not actually looking after their end of the agreement!
When it comes to reviewing and looking to outsource your installation work its well worth considering all the above especially if you are running your own installation teams. If this is the case, you will likely need to invest in all the above to ensure you are at the least doing the right thing by your customers and the environment.
Obviously if you utilise Tecserv for your assembly and final mile handling service you will have the peace of mind you will be completely covered and will be well looked after as we will bear the cost of implementing and processing all the above.
What are your current carriers doing regarding the environment as if your business is promoting green you would probably benefit from working with a likeminded business that are embracing the challenges and will soon be carbon zero, the last thing you want is to be perceived as if you are only in it for the sales concept and not the long haul!
Tecserv have committed to become carbon neutral by 2025 and feel that by being responsible and recycling our waste where possible, alongside investing in the replanting of trees our carbon footprint will be completely offset by the end of 2025.
This will no doubt set a good example and inspire other like-minded organisations in the industry to come on the journey and leave the planet in a better condition that what we found it, after all it’s not our generation that will benefit but future generations to come!
